They can move a long way in the 0.1 or so seconds that AF takes to work. Just take more shots. If your problem is a real AF accuracy one then it's front focus (FF) by the look of it. A minus setting pushes the focal point back according to the notes I made last time I adjusted AF, notes I made because I can never remember which way is which LOL.
