K-50 at Target

I just saw a white K-50 with kit zoom at the Target store in Saratoga Springs, NY, for $499. I know other people have reported seeing Pentax at Target, but I haven't. Good price, but without the extras from the NYC stores.

This is great news. It looks like it's in-store only, so people should see it alongside the competitions offerings (finally).

Looked good among the "black blobs." Cheaper than most of the others too.

Maybe paving the way for the K-S1? I could see those selling well to the Target crowd.

Keep checking at the local Targets in this area, but no sign yet. Nicest machines they have are D5200's, and T5i models.

If you're looking for one at Target, go to, find the K-50, then use Target's search function for a store near you that has one in stock. Seems there few stores with them in stock and none are available on-line. The price of $499 only shows up when you add one to your cart.

I have no financial or professional affiliation with Target but I would like to toot my horn about them. Our local store donates a lot of money to the local schools. You can register your own local school with them so that a percentage of your purchase money will go directly to them. They also have an internal Rewards credit card which gives you 5% off of all your purchases too. Their prices aren't always as low as Walmart but the service, the shopping environment, and the quality of goods is often much better. Plus, I know that my schools are getting some money from them. I'm glad that Target is carrying Ricoh and Pentax branded products.

The website said that one of the dozen or so Target stores in my area had the K-50 in stock, so I swung by just to see for myself. Yep, they actually had a white K-50 behind the glass (although the price card said $599).

They really need to move the camera section closer to bedding, so that people have something soft to fall on when they see a Pentax DSLR in a store.

Yeah, I saw a K-50 at the Target in Herndon, VA (or maybe Reston?) not too long ago.

None of the stores in the Los Angeles area had them listed in stock. 3 or 4 were listed in the San Francisco area. Is it because they are sold out or is it demographics and no demand for them in LA?

My Target Pentax experience has been good. I ordered a closeout Q from them (on-line), and it didn't quite work right, returned to store for full refund. Second unit ordered was fine. When I buy items showing a significant difference in price between store and Target on-line, customer service at store matches the price for in-store purchase. Use a Target Red card, get 5% off ($25 on a $500 purchase). Encouraging in-store sales will help Pentax not only at Target, but at other B&M stores.

Yup I was playing with the k-50 at Target recently, very snappy and intuitive. Plus the white body and lens really stood out so I immediately knew it was a Pentax from a distance
