Amazing shots. Goes to show that skill, timing, luck, and effort can trump lenses. Most people would just disregard the 18-55.

Burning Man 2014 - Imgur

Just hosed it off when I got home, still works perfectly!

Quick notes:
I used the FA 1.4 50mm at the burn itself - it got dusty but seems OK.
I used the AA adapter and must have taken 1000 photos on one set of Amazon AA rechargeables. Amazing.
Great shots!!

That's what shutters are for

Great set by the way! Makes me want to go there, testing out the 18-135!
Please post more of the same

You've got a good eye; some exceptional work in that gallery.

It looks like your camera took a licking and kept on ticking. I ordered the 18-55 WR from Adorama this morning for my K-30 and it's all you fault.

Amazing shots! How did you keep your lens clean while you were shooting? I see you had a clear filter on it. Did you just wash off the filter with water?

Thanks! Yeah, I think it had to have been around 1k. I took about 1500 photos out there with 1 K30 battery, and then 4 of the black Amazon rechargeables in the $7 adapter from Amazon. I changed the K30 batt before it ran out, and could not have taken more than a couple hundred shots with it.

Thank you very much. I am glad you blame me for it, I think you will be surprised with the humble 18-55 WR.

No, water would have made mud. I was just vigilant about wiping the filter off as often as possible, then...clone stamping in post!

Note to self: Do not buy used camera from him!

BTW; Those are great photos!
