Is this a great price... K50 kit...$450

I didn't be expecting to buy another body anytime in the near future. But this just came across my path.
Brand new in box with USA warranty...K50 kit with 18-55 WR and 50-200 WR.........$450 after my discount !
About ready to go get it after I get off work in 3 hrs.......Thoughts ???

It was a friends Christmas present from his aunt and he doesn't need it....he owes me $50 so that's where the discount comes in.
$500 to anyone else if I don't buy it before he lists on Craigslist.
It sounds real good to me , but haven't been keeping up with prices on K50.

I think for Black Friday it sold for 396$ with only the 18-55 so yes, it's a very good price.

Your friend's public offer of $500 sounds fair,
in line with what the same kit costs in New York right now.

However, if you won't be using the kit lenses,
you can get the body for under $400 these days.

The prices may go lower in a couple of months,
as the K-50 reaches the end of its shelf life.

IMHO, It is a great price for a new k-50 with two WR lenses; especially when tax is taken into consideration when you have to buy it from store.

"Shelf life is the length of time that a commodity may be stored without becoming unfit for use or consumption."

Poor K-50.
So does this mean all K-50 users must soon hide their cameras for fear of ridicule or that K-50s around the world will suddenly stop working when a K-60 is released thus forcing us to upgrade again?

I may not get this K50 deal....... Just did a bunch of checking online reviews and such and its the same camera as my K30 ! I thought it was different and its simply cosmetics......that's it.
I think Im going to pass on it.

This is probably a better deal but that $450 is ok too.

hahaha... radioactive decay I guess.... OTOH, I think it is likely a typo error - should be "shutter life".

Shelf life for the retailers with the proverbial shelves.

It means that "all K-50 retailers must soon hide their cameras for fear of ridicule or that K-50s around the world will suddenly become unsaleable at a good price when a K-60 is released."

Unless the K-60 quickly turns out to be a dog, but then PENTAX would be DOOMED!

Unless you'd want to use one of the tilt-shift lenses
that were reputed to foul the "widow's peak" on the K-30.
