Getting a new one

Not exactly, but it feels about the same. My K-30 has been gone for warranty repairs since before Christmas last year. It is now in town according to tracking number. Just waiting for delivery tomorrow. I am as excited as when I got it 2 years ago.

The latch that held the battery in place broke. The door held the battery in place and the camera worked alright. but since it was under warranty for 2 more weeks I was talked into sending it in to have it repaired. Thanks to those here that talked me into it. It seems that on the day mine broke so did a couple of others here Mine was the only one still under warranty, simply because I had a 2 year warranty.

I had that happen with mine. I resorted to using googly eyes to give the camera the added bit of pressure to hold the battery in place.

I wasn't going to do anything since it didn't bother the operation but It was brought up that the pressure on the door might be enough tpo compromise the WR of the body. My argument with that I don't have any WR lenses so it would not matter. I got to thinking If I did get a WR lens I might not have a WR body any longer. So off it went for the cost of shipping it is supposed to be fixed.
It is beginning to look like the retainer is the weak part of the K-30. If that is it's only issue I can live with it. That is better than the plastic gear problems on the ZX's.

Awesome. Did you in fact use 20mm Googly Eyes? I would think 10mm might also work...

They are 5mm. I got to thinking maybe this will help that camera's low light Focus

I thought about trying to find a pair of Small sunglasses for when I take it out in the bright sun. That ought to raise some eyebrows. Or get me locked up in the funny farm. I think I will leave them on for a while. Whats the harm right

The K-30 is home There are a couple of things I guess that were wrong I didn't know about because they now work . I put a new to me lens on and since it is a manual lens I hit the green button. It actually closed down the aperture sort of like a dof preview. It has never done that with any of my lenses before. Now I am anxious for the weekend to get out and give a run with a couple of other lenses.
