In-camera sharpening adjust question

Hello

Recently read that it is generally recommended to switch off all in-camera auto sharpening features and to make all that adjustments later in post-processing software.

I cannot find sharpening options in K-50.So where in K-50 I can switch sharpening feature?

The sharpening settings are among the custom image options, with several other sliders for saturation, contrast, etc.

...and do they even do anything if shooting RAW? Which, if you are into PP, is the way to go. Seems to me one can ignore all those image settings if you are not a JPEG shooter.

There can be a reason for keeping some sharpening on even if you process only RAWs: without some sharpening all your pictures will look misfocused on the camera screen and you will not be able to tell when you hit or miss.

A little sharpening doesn't hurt on the K-50. I would only recommend disabling it on cameras without a low-pass filter, like the K-3, K-5 IIs, or K-S1/2.

The OP didn't specify, and seemed only to want to know where any sharpening adjustment at all was in the camera. For myself, I always shoot RAW plus jpeg and use both files for different purposes, so I do make adjustments to the custom image settings.

If it's the same as the K-30, there are 2 types of sharpening available. Move the back wheel to toggle between S and FS (fine sharpening).

Hello

Apologize for late reply.

Steve you posted (manual) that what I was talking about.
I figured out it too. Going into INFO and to Custom image and INFO again for making adjustments. Setting to "normal" makes all image enhancement features turned off.

Thank you guys.

I 99% of the time shoot RAW so the point is moot but I do have sharpness added in so that if someone asks me to shoot a pic for them that they want right away, I will just use the RAW/FX button which I change to JPEG, give it to them and it is all done.
