Best single lens for K-50

If you could pick only one lens for your K-50 to shoot low light indoors, outdoors landscape and anything in between, what would it be ?

It would be the 17-70mm F2.8-4 "C" for me if I wanted a zoom, the FA 31mm if I wanted a prime, or the Sigma 35mm F1.4 if size is not issue.

Or the Tamron/Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8. Or the Tamron 28-70mm f/2.8.

Adam, why are you usually recommending the 17-70 over the 17-50? Just curious.

Extra reach I imagine.

Of the lenses I own, the da 40mm limited or the 18-135.

Of lenses I want to own, probably the 31mm limited or sigma 30mm f1.4.

31mm Limited. I shot the Caverns of Sonora with that lens, handheld, with no flash, mostly at f/1.8, and it worked beautifully. You can see some of my photos of that here. That lens is a monster in low-light, and the camera + lens combo is still small enough to fit in my small-ish purse.

Honestly? Sigma 18-250 and use built-in flash. If I could have only one lens it had better be able to do a lot!

Fully understand. I was on the same situation. However, when a sale came last year finally, I pulled the trigger... Wonderful lens!

If you are patient and do not want this lens so eagerly, you can wait for a deal, which happens several times per year.
