Place a Marketplace watch term for 18-135 and you'll get emails when that lens pops up for sale.

And yes, call B&H and Adorama, tell them you learned about them on the forum and see if they can't set up a deal.

18-135 in the marketplace... but only shipping to Europe, so whoops.

Ask the seller if the deal seems good.

Europe may or may not work for monetary reasons, but living in Canada, I have pm'd several buyers about shipping lenses here even though they said "US-only" on the ad. One has said no. The other 2 said yes and one even noted afterwards he will now ship to Canada any time on the feedback.

I bought the 2 lens kit But if i could do it again i wouldn't have. I would recommend the 18-135 kit. It gives you more range with out swapping lenses the point in WR is to stay that way if you are in the elements the last thing you want to do is swap lenses. The 18-135 mm also seems to be more highly regarded.
I 100% agree with this. I started out with a K-30 & 18-55mm WR kit. While the 18-55mm WR lens is solid, the 18-135mm WR is a huge improvement and that extra reach is more than worth the extra cost. I eventually sold both and bought a K-5ii w/ 18-135mm WR.

I know it's more money but I definitely recommend you spring for the 18-135mm WR lens instead of the 18-55mm. 55mm will only take you so far and as others have said, switching lenses just to get the extra reach is a pain, and using a non WR lens to boot sort of defeats the whole purpose of the versatility of the weather sealed body.

That's a pretty attractive combo for the price. I kind of like it in red.

I bought mine from Amazon from a Canadian dealer and had no problem getting warranty work.
Check with the seller.

Appreciate the heads up. I spotted that last night and warranty came to mind also. I read into the comments/reputation of the seller and one of the comments even mentions warranty only good in canada. So I disregarded and assume this fell into the grey market realm where warranty was washed. I will get a hold of the seller though seeing as there seems to be some hope.

Pentax K 50 Digital SLR Camera Black Body with 18 135mm WR Lens Open Box Demo 0027075233447 | eBay

$579.99 with the 18-135; about 150-200 cheaper than I bought mine for last year in April.

That is what I got from a similar deal from Amazon last year. Look at the deal I posted however.

Yeah as much as I want that lens I think the better buy is the first. Would only save $30 off the 2nd (assuming $300 for the 18-135) and lose the 18-55. Which in theory I could sell for $50? to put toward a deal on a 18-135 later not just keep.
Sucks they are both black. 120 colors and none of them here lol. Find it funny, bad odds.

or just keep. stupid inability to edit.

I'm not sure I follow. If you buy the first at $305, and then sell the kit lens (you have to factor shipping, paypal, etc.) you might clear the $50 and drive your net price to $255 + $300 (plus shipping possibly) for a DA 18-135, giving a total cost of $555 or so without any warranty on the 18-135 vs. $580 with full warranty on both and no extra work to sell etc.
