I have both lenses, unfortunately no comparison pics, there's a difference, but you need that visual to really see it for yourself. But you don't have to have an ultra wide for landscapes. I've taken landscapes from 10mm to 300mm, it really depends on the composition. Don't forget there are old manual primes that are available on the used market. Easy to use on a tripod with the K-50 and focus peaking. Occasionally you can find some for really cheap prices.

Try this: http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/lens/simulator/

Choose the DX body and then use this simulator to show the difference. It looks subtle when you see a mask over a photo but seeing it this way helps visualize it more. It is pretty dramatic. NOTE: the slider control is a bit clunky but you can get 15 and 18 if you work at it.
