It's a safe bet that the lens needed adjustment with the K-3 (and probably even the k-x. I don't have experience with the K-50, but I do know that the k-3 is an exceptional camera. If you were testing at a higher iso, the jpegs may look better since the k-50 probably handles noise better than the k-3 due to the higher resolution sensor. I know that higher iso images from my k-5 tend to look better than the one's from the k-3. What matters most is what pleases you and what you enjoy shooting. Good luck on your decision and enjoy whichever you purchase.

I think the issue with the lenses were mainly about focus accuracy. AF doesn't always work correctly out of the box. The same lens can need different AF adjustment on different cameras.

If anything I thought the 18-135 image showed more potential than the others, even though 135 is said to be its weakest focal length.

As for the camera comparison, the AWB produces different results. Hard to read too much into it.

But the K-30/K-50 is a great choice.

^ K-50 with 18-135 for $617. Not sure if it's a USA model, though.

Can't go wrong with the K-50. The bodies start at $367 from B&H or Adorama. Bodies are even cheaper on eBay, but not sure if USA versions. For what you are paying & what you are getting, it's almost a crime. My guess is that B&H & Adorama might blow these out dirt cheap this coming Thanksgiving.

The K-3 is also very awesome. I'll probably get one on Black Friday or whatever it's called now in 2016. Chances are that K-3 bodies will be around +-$400 by then if they're still around.
