Excited to have the Pentax K-50 camera!

I've been a Pentax camera owner with the Pentax K-5 II, but ended up selling it because it wasn't what I thought it would be. I did ended up missing the camera after I sold it. lol. I went with Olympus, and stayed with it for two years. I really love my Olympus OM-D E-M1, but really miss using an OVF and the Sigma 30mm F1.4 lens. I've been thinking of a camera with an APS-C sensor, and think the closest to what I like about the Olympus is Pentax because of IBIS and a weather sealed body. I'm excited! My K-50 is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

If I can sell my E-M1 camera soon I would like to buy a Rokinon fish eye lens, and the Pentax DA 50mm F1.8 lens.

So excited! haha

Welcome to being a proud K-50 owner. Take your time with it, learn its quirks, but most of all enjoy it.

I really like my K-50, but I think I'd like a K-5 II better. I didn't have the cash for one at the time, hence I have the K-50, so yeh - I'm wonder what it was about the K-5 II you didn't like?

I actually have both. I've had the K-5 IIs for about 3 weeks but initial observations are that it's a great camera with powerful features. It's a little heavier than the K-50 and feels more solid in the hand. The little LCD window atop the body is great for checking and setting exposure, etc. The ISO setting often has me befuddled but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The K-50 is a little friendlier in the layout of the menus and buttons. Both are capable of producing stunning pictures.

Don't sell your E-M1. It's a very good camera and you might miss it too.
