arca-swiss plate for K-50?

I have a tripod+ballhead from my previous camera that I'd like to use with the K-50, but I haven't had luck searching for plates online. I found a couple universal / generic plates, but I don't know if they're any good. I've heard that the generic ones don't have a lip or bumper and they tend to move around when mounted.

Any good plates for the K-50?

Haha.. very good

Have you tried it out? It seems like there are some fit/QC type problems in the reviews.

I use the Neewer plates from Amazon at about $7. They're not fancy but I have never had a problem with them on either the camera or the tripod.

Thanks, both. At least these plates are not very expensive so I can experiment a bit.

@dakight, is it the PU-50 II that you're using, or the cheaper PU-50 III? I'm not sure what the difference is.

I've also sent an e-mail to RRS (I have one of their ballheads from years ago) to see if they can make a recommendation, but since they don't make one for the K-50 themselves (and they don't do universal mounts) I'm not holding my breath.

The PU-50, they work great with my cameras and tripod.

*edit* Sorry, I was in a bit of fog... the ones I have I am sure are the PU-50 III but like you I don't know what the difference is. I also have a couple of generic ones that I got on Ebay and they are fine too. There's no magic in them; it's just machined aluminum with a captive screw in a slot.

If you get some slippage of the camera on the plate, just add some strips of self-adhesive rubber foam, which you can get off ebay, to the top of the plate!
Works a treat (and has many other uses for accessories and other things!).

I have that sunway plate and its not good fit with k30 so probably same thing with k50. I use sirui plate model like this QR Plate Ty 60 with D Ring Screw Made for Sirui G10 G20 G30 K10X K20X Ballhead | eBay

Perfect for k30, those red knots dont let camera turn.

Thanks for the ideas so far. By the way this is the response I got from RRS, in case any others are interested. Apparently they do make a generic (albeit pricey) plate that should fit perfectly on their clamp systems:

Thank you for your email. I would recommend taking a look at our BP-CS plate. This is a multi-camera plate that will work with most DSLRs without a battery grip or articulating LCD screen.

BP-CS: BP-CS multi-camera plate
Whichever plate I do get, I promise to update with my results regarding fit.
