Please excuse my ignorance and don't mean to offend those that have contributed and have recommended camera with 18-135 lens. The 2 kit lens attracts me because of the 55-200 mm lens as I see it having better reach. I don't like to go to the front of the stage and block other parents to grab that school assembly pic. I'm thinking the longer lens will help with that and at games but if it will produce bad pictures then I guess it is a waste. I do like the price that the 2 kit bundle is at with given 3rd free 50 mm lens that will help in low light situations I think. Am I off in my thinking?
If you really need the reach of the 55-200 then go for it. I had a lens that went out to 250 on my K10d and after looking through my old pictures realized I didn't go out that far during normal shooting. Only did just because I felt I had to use the extra reach. Sounds like you will use it though.
The 18-135 gets a lot of love and seems to produce great images. Just seemed like a better one lens solution for me. Sounds like you are looking to go further out though.
The price on the kit you are looking at is really great too.
