K50 display screen

Just purchased a K50 as an upgrade to the trusty old Kr. All going well, took a few snaps that looked great on the camera display screen, but when I went to process the RAW files, they all appeared quite underexposed. This was easily fixed in PP, but just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. I checked the brightness/colour settings on the LCD display, but they were all set to mid range. With the Kr, what you saw on the display screen was basically what appeared on the monitor of the computer.

Did you accidentally apply exposure compensation?

No, I checked that when taking pics. The funny thing was, I got the camera with a DA 50mm 1.8. When I took pictures with that on the K50, it looked well over exposed on the screen. I then put that lens on the Kr where it seemed to expose normally, on the screen and subsequent raw files.

you didn't mention what metering mode setting you use on the k-50 vs the k-r. Are they the same?

On my K-30 I've set the LCD to -2 brightness, -3 Blue, +3 Magenta. In normal lighting (no direct sunlight, not very dark, no backlight) now it shows the real exposeure for my eyes. The K-30 is very similar to the K-50. When I get the camera it fooled me by the preview, it generaly looked well exposed, but on the computer I've seen it underexposed.

Yes, the same metering mode was used on both cameras. I think there's been some other discussion on the forum about K50 and K50 exposure issues. I may well try reducing the screen brightness and colours as suggested. Thanks for the replies
