A Documentary Short Shot with K-30

So I always forget to shoot video of my kids because I naturally gravitate toward still photos, so every six months or so, my husband and I make a little "film" in a different style. These aren't meant to be serious (our first one was a French existential where our three-month-old bemoaned her fate), but just to remind us of what our kids were doing at different ages. We made one for my birthday this year in the style of one of my favorite directors, Werner Herzog. He's a German filmmaker who does a lot of documentaries, so we went with that style and my husband did his best German accent for the narration. It was shot with a K-30 and the DA 12-24 and the FA 31.

I know the audio sucks - we're using the in-built on a laptop and hoping for the best

What a fun use of the video on your K-30. I could not resist finding the other short you mentioned.

I shot the video in the highest quality on the K-30, but I saved it at a low quality to upload to YouTube. I also have the higher quality version for posterity

Good sleuthing! That's the one that started it all, shot on a $100 Kodak videorecorder meant more for shooting underwater. We've also done a 1920's detective noir, a "Royal Tenenbaums" homage, a horror film, a stand-up comedy special....my kids are going to be so embarrassed later, right?

So glad you enjoyed, and I'll pass on the compliment to my husband

Thanks, though that didn't really answer the question. Was there a problem uploading the 1080p version to YT?

The problem is more with my internet connection and impatience Even the low quality version took almost half an hour to upload.

Fair enough.
I usually just let them upload in the background and get on with something else
