Could not refuse..

An irresistible red k50 with matching wr18-55 at $230ish online. It has no charger or batteries ($17 at auction) but does have a 14-day return period in case of other issues.

I had been wishing for a WR bargain to supplant my K-r, especially after 5" of rain hit our front porch in 48hrs so this will do nicely.. I hope!

Congrats on the nice deal! That's about what I paid a few months ago for my K-30 sans lens. I was particular about wanting the K-30

Time to sell off your 55-300 and get the WR version?

I'm happy to keep the current 55-300 for a bit, but I left the listing up with that update in mind I definitely saw a few nice K30 deals (love the crystal blue) but my lack of WR lenses right now made the difference (aside from being.. not black!)

No doubt holiday deals could be as good or better, but I'm fine with this.

I've no WR lenses either, although I've never hesitated to go out in light precip. I'm thinking the HD 55-300WR will be my "Christmas lens".

I could have had the crystal blue K-30 for a few dollars more, but I figured my bumblebee K-01 was bright enough.

I hope you post a couple of pics of your red K-50 + lens setup, I bet that will look

Edit: didn't you used to have a K-5?

Oh let's not get personal now!
In my five-ish years with Pentax I've owned K100d, two-three? K200d, K-7 (whose sensor almost drove me to m:43 but instead I went to) K-x, K-r, K-5 (Classic, II and IIs) then K-s1 and now K-r #3 plus K-50. Ugh.

I've yet to meet a Pentax body I didn't like though. These trades were mostly due to budget crises due to spousal health issues. The final budget crunch should be cured "any day now" with a home refinance that just won't close. Always one more step, now down to county inspections for title clearance.

Oh wait, for a month or so I owned a white K-50. No wonder I have so many + transaction ratings, I've stocked the whole dang forum with gear by now I finally stopped updating my spreadsheet with lens transactions, that was not something I would ever want to re-examine!!

Oh wait II - how dare I forget the K-01 ! Also, my wife and I have matching Q Classics.

It's interesting how red K-50 looks if you google it then switch to Images. Sometimes orange, other times deep red depending on light WB and Custom Image I suppose. I like this one best, hope mine is this shade!

Indeed; thanks for the good thought! Brighter days indeed, we've had dense clouds & now at 3.6" in the past 24h, 9" since last Thursday noon. Even for the PacNW west-side strip that's a lot, tropical rain but no palm trees to lounge beneath. Oh well, Corona is bad for my celiac disease anyway.

I just paid another $135 so now the inspection (and refinance) can move forward.. again. Ah the uses I could have put that to, photographically!

Well it's here - and it's Red!

It has 925± actuations, a few tiny scratches on the flash cap (noted in sale), FW1.00, creation date of 2014:06:21. The camera came about an hour before the batteries, but I survived Settings are now to my liking - but I forgot to up the FW first so we'll probably need to do that again!

My wife opted for white for her k-50 but that red is sexy.
