Dumped Nikon for Pentax!!

I rented a K-50 and fell in love!!! I dumped my Nikon 5200 and a wide selection of lenses. I have shot Nikon all of my life, starting with a Nikormat in 1970, but now I am the happiest new Pentaxian around. So I just thought I would say that there are still those of us who do come over from the dark side. Merry Christmas!

I did the same thing Scwinn, and am glad that I did.

The Pentax colors beat the Nikon colors easily in my book.

I shot the FT3 and then later the F2 but switched to Pentax with the PZ-1 and later a K100D and then a K-50 and now a K-3. A friend had a 5200 or 5300 and her kit lenses and I was appalled by how cheap feeling the whole thing was.

Occasionally when i'm at bestbuy i check out the dslrs... sorry, not occasionally, everytime but its not that often. I can often scratch the surface of the canikon dslrs easily! I abhor the build quality.

Scwinn, Welcome to the forum, the Pentax family and to the system with soul. You are going to love the intuitive, rugged, magical color rendition and unique look that we die hard Pentax fans love about Pentax. It's not a perfect system but then no system is - they all have compromises that you have to make. But you get tremendous value from the Pentax system and their fantastic primes around which you can create a superb lineup or around their magnificent DA* Zooms. Welcome and happy shooting

I guess I'm not the only one who goes to see how bad the Canikons are...

although not the professional ones! We shouldn't generalize, i know I just did. 70d+ are not bad at all, but Canikon entry level DSLRs simply ride on the Canikon name
