Aint that the truth. Cheap plastic Canon crap. I believe If Pentax had equal physical presence at the big box stores like the Wal-Marts and Targets, I think you would see their market share skyrocket. I shop Sams Club a lot and there is no sign of Pentax anywhere to be seen.

I have seen pallets of Pentax cameras at Costco, but as one time deals. You come back two weeks later, the pallet is empty, they don't get more.

Target tried it, didn't they?? Why doesn't someone just give it a leap of faith? won't happen. Is it something to do with Pentax's policy of giving cameras to retailers, and the downpayment needed?

Not in store in most places. Pentax was web only from Walmart and Target. Target did have a red Q10, which is the one I own, purchased at a ridiculous discount online after Target dumped the whole line...Though I'm not sure the one I bought was originally from Target. I got it from Beach Camera through Amazon...$169 with the 02...

I saw and tried out the K-50 at Target, that's all they had, no lenses, no other models, just the K-50 and kit lens. They're all gone now, been gone for a good year. It's unfortunate Pentax is marketed so poorly in the US. When I told a friend I shoot with Pentax, his response was "a film camera?" then "I thought they don't make cameras anymore."

Just banged off my first 200 pics. Wow! What a difference. This camera has a soul. I shot Christmas lights in my neighborhood and each picture was worth a thousand words. I am also very impressed from what I see so far from this community. It certainly rocks! Thanks for the warm welcome. Hope you'll be hearing from me a lot in the future.

I upgraded to Pentax K50 from Nikon P330. I have been loving it since then too.

I rented a K-50 and fell in love!!! I dumped my Nikon 5200 and a wide selection of lenses. I have shot Nikon all of my life, starting with a Nikormat in 1970, but now I am the happiest new Pentaxian around. So I just thought I would say that there are still those of us who do come over from the dark side. Merry Christmas!
That takes some guts and bravery. I'm sure you'll enjoy Pentax.

Yes, let them jeer, snicker and belittle. Then slam-dunk them in the face with your Pentax pics. Man, I just love it.

Welcome to the forum Scwinn. Merry shooting, I mean, Christmas of course.

As far as I am concerned, Canikons aren't bad at all BUT they are not Pentax. Thats the main cons.

Welcome mate. You will love the K50, its an awesome little bit of kit. I haven't looked back since I got mine a few months ago when I made the move from Oly.

I did same thing... albeit some thirty plus years ago, in those days I went from F3s to LXs.
