Why did Pentax have to make the K-50 in colors?

I am planning on getting my wife a camera and wanted to use it as a backup for weddings as well. Last night I was showing her the K-50 on the B&H website. She saw that it comes in red.
See, she is a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan and loves the color red. Now she wants a red one.
How am I supposed to use a red camera as a wedding backup?
I would really like to know who the brainiac at Pentax was that came up with this idea.

The white one, however is perfect for weddings!

Seems like it could be a good story to break the ice at a wedding shoot - "Yeah, it's my wife's - I wanted a good backup camera, she wanted a red one. We compromised - and got both."

Because they could?

I guess you better hope you don't need the backup. Or the bridesmaids are wearing red..............

Doesn't matter... the wife gets what the wife wants (actual research proved the adage 'happy wife, happy life' is true). As a side note, I wish I had a blue k50 so I may be biased.

I just realized I should have said "we compromised - and got both." Gotta plug the brand a little.

Get her the RED, pronto!

It's a good way to sneak in a DA*55, or an FA77, you know for those nice tele shots, I'm sure that she wouldn't mind

Oh the FA77 is on my wish list for sure. Along with the HD 35 Macro Limited, the 10-17 Fisheye, the Tamron 70-200 2.8.
