Controlling settings on the K 50

When using the camera on the “M” or “TAV” settings, after I have taken the initial photo it will not allow me to change the time value or aperture value without clicking out of that setting and then back to it… can anyone tell me what I can do to escape this problem? Thank you!

Disable instant review (or half-press the shutter button immediately after entering it), as it otherwise causes the e-dial to instead control zooming on the image.

Half press the shutter as another way to exit instant review.
