K-50 possessed?

I have a K-50 which normally behaves impeccably but occasionally throws a fit and acts as if it is possessed.
This tends to occur when reviewing images on the rear screen. I will be zooming using the rear wheel when the camera suddenly jumps out of review mode and back into imaging mode. This is accompanied by the focus assist light coming on and the lens focussing back and forth. Switching off and on again fixes it. I used to think it only happened with low batteries but I have seen it with green battery indicator as well.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I have head of possessed furbies, but a K-50? Are you certain you aren't inadvertently depressing the shutter release? All it takes is a half-press to cause the camera to jump out of image review mode and initialize the autofocus, which would explain why the AF assist light comes on and the AF racks backwards and forwards.

Pretty sure I'm not pressing the shutter release. When this happens it doesn't just happen once, it repeats until I turn it off.

I would try holy water, but that may not work with the WR body.

I was trying to provoke this the other day by continually zooming in and out of images with no success but I did notice my right index finger was very close to the shutter button so I will definitely pay more attention in the future. This has bothered me for over two years so I will be embarrassed but happy if that is the cause.
