K-50 black review screen

One month ago my K-50 was working fine. I have not used it since. Today I turned it on, framed an image on the automatic setting, and pressed the shutter. No image appeared. I checked the battery, and it is charged. What kind of failure am I experiencing and what is to be done? I am past the warranty period. Thanks.

Here is a link to the Trouble Shooting Thread. There you will find issues folks are having with their k-50. You may have to hunt until you locate the proper section.

Good Luck,

Tony

Perhaps the image review setting has been changed to off - check in the menu. Do you get an image after shooting when you press the review arrow?

The "Aperture Block" issue sometimes has been reported occurring after a camera, usually a K-30 or K-50, has been idle for a period of time. The following thread explains how to diagnose this issue, which results in the camera's taking badly under-exposed pictures
Dark exposure problems on K-30 or K-50? Read me first! - PentaxForums.com

BTW - roughly what is the shutter count on that camera?

Have you turned the LCD off?

Thanks to evryone who has responded. It appears as though I have an aperture block problem.
