The owner of that bricked K-01 has fortunately repaired the camera via Ricoh service.
That's great to hear,

This firmware will allow me and my K30 to upgrade to the 55-300 PLM without getting a new K70 body, I wouldn't have gone for the K50, thanks for doing a great service to us K30 owners

Been running the K50 firmware on my K30 now for over a month, no issues, all functions are good, battery life not effected, No noticeable changes in behavior. Put about 500 shots on it, an airshow and some people shots, all is good

Likewise here, been running the upgraded firmware since May. No issues I've noticed.

I understand that there has been a further update to the K-50 f/w - any chance of that being "adapted" for the K-30?

Where have you seen it?
According to the official Ricoh site, the latest available version for K-50 is 1.10.

Sorry - my error - got "confused" by the fact there is new f/w for the K-70, and thought it was for the K-50

Firmware works perfect

Many thanks to all you!

Three K-30's work now with the 1.10 firmware without any problem!

ABel.... any chance of this firmware for the K500?

My brother uses the K500 (with made in Japan solenoid of course).

Would be fantastic.

Hello. Since last days also my K-30 with modified firmware works great. Then I got a problem: it started to not exposure correctly and give me always 1/6000 seconds of exposure. That was a problem,

I tried to flash the old firmware, then re flash the modified firmware. Now it's bricked !

So my question is: is there a way to hard reset/ re flash automatically the firmware on camera loading ?
Thanks

Does the camera hang right after powering on, or it can display the info screen and hangs after pressing any button?

Hi. At first, the camera hang when trying to access Main Menu.
Then, after changing lens (i don't know why), i was allowed to go into menu ('passing' via Play image -> Main Menu), and navigate through "firmware update" using the 'wheel' (not button).

So i could re-update firmware to original K-30.

At the moment my K-30 won't work focus and exposure system using normal viewfinder.
Using LiveView works all (exposure meter and also focus system).

Maybe it's broken for other reasons, but i've used with k-30 custom firmware (K-50 for PLM lens) for over 3-4 months without any problem.

In this case please download this archive: Yandex.Disk
Extract the archive to the top level folder of your camera's SD card, insert the card in the camera, and don't close the card door, leave it open. Turn the camera on, it should display the debug menu.
On the first page of the menu, there should be "USR DAT CLEAR", use it to restore the camera settings to the factory defaults. This should help.
