One of the users on penta-club.ru reported the following possible problem with the modified firmware:

If you turn the LCD monitor off (by pressing INFO twice, then selecting "Display off"), LCD turns on by itself when the camera is powered on next time.
Could please someone confirm?

I just verified and my k-30 has the same behaviour. If even a problem, I consider it very minor.

One of my friends just reported his K-50 with v.1.10 behaves in the very same way.
He doesn't use "Display off" mode, so he cannot tell how this feature worked in the previous firmware versions.

Anyway, this definitely is not a bug from firmware adaptation, but a way version 1.10 works.

Another like to Abel for doing this.

I don't even have a K-30 or K-50. But I can see that it's a useful hack, and the great support for it by ABel.

This is not a bug, but is behavior controlled by the settings in the "Memory" setting in menu 4 on the first menu tab. In page 2 of the Memory settings, put a check mark in the "Shooting Info Display" for it to save that setting between power cycles.

This is exactly what that user needed. Thanks for an advice!

Thank you very much, ABel, for such a great firmware.

I tried it on my K-30 last night, and of course, had to set all things over again, but after that, it's all good.
Since I own neither an Eye-fi nor the 55-300 PLM, and I usually don't use any ISO settings higher than 1250, changes I observed are:

-Faster, more solid AF lock in some conditions(mostly low light) with the Tamron 17-50. Not much difference with the HD 2.4/70.
-Ability to change filename(this is the most useful)
-No more Expanded Sensitivity setting(not needed at all).
-I needed to set all the AF fine adjustment for all my lenses again and the correct values just changed somehow.
-I noticed that sometimes when I press the MENU button to cancel some settings, the INFO screen flashes up before the screen turns off(my default is to turn off). It's minimally annoying though.

I will report later if there's anything more.

P.S.Is that a magnifier cup on your K-30 ? I'm thinking of getting one for mine, may I ask your experiences with it?

Yes, this is O-ME53 eyecup. I bought it to simplify focusing with the manual lenses as well as for additional focusing accuracy checking with AF lenses.
I've also installed a focusing screen from an old malfunctioning Pentax ME Super - with microsprism and split image.
Both these additions allowed for more accurate focusing.

The only annoyance with this eyecup was I could not see the viewfinder information line when looking in the center of the picture. To see the info line, it's necessary to move the eye. It's like looking beyond a fence

Has anybody tried how well K30/50 upgrade work with Toshiban FlashAir 32GB card?

EDIT: Not important anymore. I upgraded the camera and orded the card. 16GB instead of 32GB as they were out of stock, but 16 is enough for me.

Does this firmware version 1.10 work in K-01(214)?

Not only K-30(215) ,K-50(222) and K-500(223) but also K-01 can be felt as brothers.

The firmware from the first post won't install on K-01 for sure, but I can make the necessary changes to K-50 firmware so it can possibly be installed.
The chances to brick the camera are really high though.
Just let me know if you are ready for this dangerous experimentation
