is there any way to turn it off?

What camera do you have? Almost all of them allow you to turn off the screen.

Repeatedly press the info/display button until the LCD goes off, or go into the setup menu. You should be able to find an instruction manual online.

It depends on the camera you have but if its a K3 or K3II when in shooting mode press the Info Button twice a sub-screen will display "Status Screen" "Electronic Level" and "Display Off" select display off then push OK. I assume the K5 series works similar.
