If it is white-coloured, yes. As far as I can tell it was more in Europe that they already tested the green solenoids in the flash with the K-m
k-x etc. but not USA.

You can install the green solenoid into the flash-circuit of your k-m/2000.
Good point with the green sol

Shucks my solenoid started working again on my K30 (K50 firmware) and AV mode does not stop down a non "A" lens. I guess I'll have to use the green button again. It still seems to be an intermittent problem and that for me is a worst case, I never know what to expect from my K30. It was a good excuse for getting my new KP but letting the K30 rest while playing with the kp seems to enable the solenoid to start working again. For a while anyway. Maybe on a rainy or snowy day I will open my KM and K30 and swap solenoids.

After reading thru this interesting thread, I can't help but wonder if what's really happening (broken solonoid or not) is that the camera still captures with same aperture, but the OP is using ExComp. to +x to compensate for the reduced light of the lower aperture, the camera's actually compensating via slower shutter or higher ISO - producing the desired exposure? If this is indeed the case, the DOF will still be that of a wide-open aperture (if solonoid is working and camera is working as specified - by Pentax).

With a working solenoid yes but not if the solenoid is stuck. That's the whole point @M42man made.
Here we had another discussion:
Suddenly all pics are very dark? - Page 2 - PentaxForums.com
One member denied it would work although he had the best chance to test it with his ABF-K30 but he chose not to comment anymore even being wrong.
So I had to wait until I had a K-S1 with ABF and did the tests.
