K10 focussing screen any use?

OK, after successfully swapping the solenoid of a dead K10 into my K30, I just found out that the donor K10 has a microprism diagonal split focussing screen. Can I put that to any use?
From searching the forum I get the impression that the K10 screen is different from the later models. In one of the threads Steve Brot states for instance: 'The instruction photos on focusingscreen.com show a K10 which installs opposite of the one for your K30'
Must say up to now didn't really mis an old type screen. I do have some fast MF lenses however and wouldn't mind experimenting a bit.
I still have an old K200 as well, would that fit?
I bought the dead K10 in the Netherlands and can't contact the seller any more, so haven't got a clue what 'mark' FS it is.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Cheers, Gerard

I don't think the screen is going to fit in your other cameras. The K10D and K20D used the same L_-80 screens, while the K200D used the same screen as the K100D through K-r "low-end" bodies. The K-30 began the standard of the "low-end" and "high-end" APS-C bodies using the same M_-60 screens (so, K-7/5/3/KP,30/50/500/S1/S2/70).

Thanks,

I already feared so, but couldn't find the exact info.
The whole lot will go to the eternal fields then, (unless a K10 owner wants it for just the postage)

Gerard, the payment and my mailing address will be sent to you shortly.

Attached is a photo of the little silver latch that holds the screen into possition. It should be fairly easy to disengage it and remove the screen.

Thanks,
Dave

If it ever would be a Katzeye or a Focusing-Screen version, then those are great, particular Katzeye!

The only difference of the K10D/K20D screens to K5/K3/K30/K50/KP etc etc. is the nose.
To be able to use a K10D matte in the K5 / K30 etc. you just clip off this little nose and then it fits into your camera!

I have done that several times and it works great.

Just holding the screen is that bit more fine-tuned work, because you don't want to touch the surface at all!

But I can do it with tweezers and you won't see any damage/mark

Ah, thanks, useful info, but too late! It's on its way to Fenwoodian now, perhaps he can tell what screen it is exactly!

Cheers, Gerard
