And: Keep in mind that when you use FF lenses on APS-C, you're using their "sweet spot". Not all FF lenses are quite as good on full frame, dpreview's parallel tests on cropped and FF show this quite well.

My greatest frustration if I eventually upgrade to a Pentax FF will be that the DA35 macro will be almost unusable. That lens is almost glued to my camera these days. The DA70 seems to be quite fine on FF, though, at least for portrait and other use where corner sharpness isn't important.

I agree that DA 35 is an awesome lens. I wonder how D FA 50 on FF would fare against DA 35 on APS-C. No questions about the build quality. But would D FA be as flexible a lens as DA 35 is?? What if they came out with D FA 50 macro WR??

I hate to get into a full frame versus APS-C debate, but there were a lot of "dog" lenses back in the day on full frame that looked better on APS-C. APS-C stresses lenses in a different way than full frame does. At the same time, you will pay for full frame lenses with good edge to edge sharpness, without vignetting. Not saying that it isn't worth it, but it won't be cheap either.

I haven't used the DFA 50, but it seems it's not quite as well regarded as the DFA 100? If they can build a DFA 50 macro WR f/2.8 with the same nice rendering as the DA35, it could possibly be an even more versatile lens, since f/2.8 on a 50mm on FF gives you shallower DOF than on a 35mm on APS-C.

According to the lens database, the owners seems happy with it I'm sure it would work in D-FA version. The main criticism about the first two D-FA macros was the build quality.

A good friend of mine told me there would be a update for K-7. Something like K-7N. A new catalogue by Summer.

Hmm, not sure why I thought there was anything wrong with that lens If they release a new metal WR version like the 100 mm, and also with the rounded aperture blades of the 100 WR (giving smooth bokeh also with smaller apertures), it definitely could be a good replacement for the DA35 on a FF camera.

is there any specific reason to believe your friend's views are more to be relied upon than anyone else's? this is not meant to be rude. just trying to get a picture for which of the many rumors floating around at this time has a possibility of being more than just a rumor.

My friend just came off from a meeting in Pentax EU. Right now main business is getting 645D to EU. MSRP is 10,000 EU.

Couldn't you ask him to be a bit more specific about what "update" means"? Sounds like no new sensor, just some new gimmicks.
Nothing about a "higher" model?

FF model - Photokina IMO.

K-7 super (?) - semi-pro APS-C - maybe June 2010.
K-5 (?) - something like new K200D (I mean WR and AF points lights) - between K-x and K-7 - maybe Photokina 2010

It's the simpliest and cheapest way - K-x with WR and AF points with some features from k-7, K-7 with better video + some tweaks.
FF with well-known sensor with SAFOX IX+ on the software base of K-7/645D/K-7 super.

Three DSLR and DMF 645D.

I think K-x niche will transform to EVIL. It's just my guess

Pay attention. It's MY GUESS.

Do you know anything about lenses? a f/2 prime in the range of 20-24 mm would be nice, 85mm f/1.4 and 135mm f/2 ... still hoping ;-)

Lenses - NO.

I've heard about DA*10-16/4 - I think it's not myth.

If a FF camera is just around the corner, as you said on Dpreview, then this must be a YES IMHO

Isn't this strange if a FF is in the pipeline? More pro-glass for crop sensors is not logical for me if the future pro body will be FF.
