645D Preview

This will give you good sense of the size of the camera and the controls:

Pentax's medium-format 645D previewed, is a lot of camera to love (video) -- Engadget

Looks sharp!

I have to say it is a cool camera, they will sell a lot of them if they can build a pro-level after sales service.

Studio bound? Do the folks at Engadget get a lot of rain in their studio, or what do they think the weather sealing is for?

There are several meanings of the word "bound". One of them, as you suggest, means being stuck somewhere. Another means "destined for", and since this is a 10,000 dollar camera, it's not one that is likely to be picked up by Mr. and Mrs. Sixpack, but instead bought by professionals, who are very likely to have studios.

Thus, it is correct to say that it is studio bound. Unless you believe that the east bound morning commuters are somehow unable to get home.

I know, my post was tongue in cheek.

(Although realistically, unless tethering is added, it's unlikely to be studio-bound no matter whom is buying. As is right now, it's still a camera intended for outdoors use, not studio use.)

Dude, it's England.

While it's expensive for a Pentax, keep in mind it's no more expensive than those Canons or Nikons that people regularly take into the wider world.

Love it, though. Lots of button controls, the famous RAW button, MLU button. Sloped top deck, and, more importantly, our Canadian friend was hefting it around with one hand like it ain't no thang.
