The camera is indeed a Pentax 645 (the first version). Nice touch!

Me too. Both are against run of the mill brands, eh?

Priorities, man, priorities.

I kind of like that camera-retention idea, though.

Actually, I'd say it makes perfect sense. It looks expensive and impressive, it's recognizable as a camera, and it's very "sexy" looking for a camera, with the sleek black and shine that emphasizes the interior of the car. To me, it makes me think the message they want to send is that the Fiat is a car for people who want to be efficient and practical, but still sleek and more expensive than it looks. I think they are going for the message that they understand their drivers tend to be alone in the car, and would appreciate being able to secure valuable things without tossing them on the floor.

I think it's a good idea and a good way to send that message.

Actually, that fits perfectly. When you buy a camera like this, you won't have anything left to pay for a car!

Oh, I know the owner actually. He had to trade his BMW in, to pay for the 645D

I wonder how many people would laugh at Fiat if the knew that they own Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and others.

And knowing that, whit in the group, technology is running across the brands...
Yes, there is Ferrari technology (and perhaps somme parts) in Fiat, but vice versa too!
Business as usual...

Well the car that crashes in that Youtube spot, is not a Fiat.
I am a bit unsure what it is really, but it do looks quite much like a Chrysler 180 from the early 70's. Quite different styling from the Fiat 132/Argenta that were the largest car from Fiat.
