Thank's for the info!
I'll try to take some time to go

(I'm surprised though that Pentax canada will be there - as I taught that it became a ghost compagny ) Hope to find something new and interesting from them!

Pentax as at the henry's show in Toronto, I think Hoya is trying to increase the exposure.

Hope they removed DFS (Dark Frame Substraction) if the exposure takes long

I'll be there

I'll be there too on the opening Friday.

Last year, the Pentax booth was miserable compared to even Olympus and Sony. Looking at the floor plan, it doesn't look like they will spend much more dollars than last year. I'm surprised that a small company like Olympus can do so much more.

Big compared to what exactly? Hoya is also a very big company but it's a small player in the DSLR world. Olympus is not that much bigger in that sector I believe.

Finally went there. I could touch the 645D, very nice chunk of camera, very impressive, handling is top notch, a true Pentax. Good show but a bit disapointed that some players like Samsung were not there. I wanted to try the NX and the EX-1/TL-500.

I visited the show also. Lozeau have set up a lens platform with some lens and camera from Canon, Sony(1) Nikon and Pentax(1) Wow. I try the K20D , AF is very fast versus my K-X. I was surprised. Canon high end and Nikon were super fast . Sony was just Ok.
I stop at the Pentax booth. Really pushing the K-X with mention winning price in USA and Europe
I ask the question about what coming with Pentax. Got an evasive answer,Some new stuff coming this fall. The Pentax Canada manager was there. They were very carefull in talking about the new stuff

The lens fitted if I'm not mistaken was the DA* 60-250mm f/4, it's a very fast focuser. Should be as good on the K-x. I tried it on my K-7 and was pleasantly surprised that it was faster than my DA* 50-135mm f/2.8.

They hinted at new releases ready for Christmas time.

Well, what lens isn't faster than the 50-135 ? :ugh:

More seriously, it's encouraging that the 60-250 focuses quicker. Hopefully it means Pentax are still making SDM evolve.

Although the 60-250mm does focus faster than the 50-135mm it's still nowhere near the speed it should be. I rarely use mine because its still very slow when compared to my Sigma 100-300mm f4.

With all the rumblings lately I'm pretty well convinced something cool is coming down the pipe. The big question for me is will these new items be released before a wedding I have to shoot in October. I bet they reveal it in September and then release it in November. DAMN! hahaha
