IT'S LEICA!

L is for Leica - se their logo (they have two - L and Leica).
again do you have proof of this my panasonic Lumix has a Lumix lens not a Leica

"Lumix is Panasonic's brand of digital cameras, ranging from pocket point-and-shoot models to digital SLRs. Many Lumix models are fitted with Leica lenses that have been designed by Leica's German optical engineers and are assembled in Japan, some are rebadged as Leica cameras with different cosmetic styling. Leica had a similar relationship with Minolta in the past, where late model Leica SLRs (and some 35mm point and shoot models) were strongly based on Minolta bodies.

Most Lumix cameras use different releases of the Panasonic Venus Engine for digital image processing; the original version was followed by II, III, IV, HD (2008), V

It's also on the camera models without Leica lenses....

Like...

DMC-FH22/DMC-FH20/DMC-FS33/DMC-FS30 | PRODUCTS | LUMIX | Digital Camera | Panasonic Global

They have the L, but they also contain LUMIX DC VARIO lens instead of a Leica one.

Also... I just noticed that the site's Icon is that L?

This "L" is only the Lumix Sign/Symbol.
In beginning of that Cameraline,it was the Symbol for the Leica/Panasonic cooperation.
So i have learned in the Panasonic Training 2001 or 2002.

Best regards,Andy

Definitely ;P, Oh wells... wished there was some awesome story behind this though... but nope ;/. Example... that actually the MZ-L was produced for Germany where Leica was and for a limited time Leica made a special K mount series just for the MZ-L. Later though, when Leica partnered up with Panasonic, Leica used their own portion of the MZ-L design to help design a fitting body for their lenses with Panasonic, and that is why they used the L, to rub it in Pentax's face that other P companies can use [L] too.

;( but nope... none of that...

And then I suppose Pentax decided to team up with Konica (being another K brand) to get revenge for Leica's alphabetical infidelity?
