There's nothing meager from K20 to K7, nothing meager at all. Quite the opposite, although it may not suit everyone (that's totally different problem).
We probably agree here, just a difference of words. I think the upgrade was certainly noteworthy (fantastic body redesign, 77-segment metering, movie-mode, hi-res LCD) but IMHO these changes are more evolutionary or, as I wrote, meager, than the introduction of a new sensor and an upgrade from SAFOX III.

At any rate, the last thing I want to do here is to agitate the masses with my implausible insights and defective logic.

Meager has definite negative connotations -- perhaps more than you meant. From M-W: meager implies the absence of elements, qualities, or numbers necessary to a thing's richness, substance, or potency. That's significantly different from saying "noteworthy evolutionary improvements".

Yep, you get my point, and reading your response I get a better understanding of what MrPetkus probably means. I guess this is all semantic indeed.

Wow....ouch! I have a K7 from B&H in the mail right now, ordered LAST Thursday... I'm going to be unhappy if they drop the price $175 dollars in the space of a week!

I might not actually open the box until this rumor is confirmed or debunked!

I wonder if B&H might price match?

Anyone have more on this $598 rumor?

Pentax K-7 will be priced at $598 on June 24th 2010 at Willoughby's NYC

I can't imagine not buying a K-7 from my favorite B&H on June 24th 2010, assuming B&H drop their website price on K-7 to match Willoughby's well advertised " Pentax usa sponsored special".

$598 makes perfect sense to me to add a K-7 to my K20D. I've hessitated at $763... $598 is a No Brainer

Not that I didn't assume k-7 would drop to low $600s. Isn't June 24th the 14th month & 4th day since K-7 announced ?

$598 K-7 on 6-24-10 is better price than $763 today, 6-18-10 ???

Here's the "heads up" $598 K-7 Thread:

i think you have to be physically in NYC at Willoughby's plus bring a camera for trade-in (a $300 credit) to get it at this price.

no way B&H will be matching that.

I've got a K-7 enroute from the US (EMI) and I'll see if there's any duties, but I'm not expecting any.
Got my K-7 today, zero import duties, but they did sting me for GST and PST (gotta love taxes), which I would have paid anyway if I bought the camera anywhere in Ontario. Total price, $695.00 + $85 (GST/PST) + $45 (shipping/insured) = $825.00 (keep in mind it was a private sale, not an online store - but even $800 from a US Based webstore would still be better than retail or web here in Canada)

Henry's Toronto Current List Price = $1,299.99 + $194.99 taxes + $18.95 shipping = $1513.93 = WOW - why would I buy in Canada.

Good point. Although I note a quick search of shopbot shows Aden a little closer (1089.99 + tax = 163.50 = total 1253.50):

Aden K7

Henry's will price match Aden.

I don't buy in Canada either - price differences are rediculous.

Good to know; obviously, you had to pay GST/PST because the single item exceeded your 24/48 hour quota for visiting the U.S.

Did you just declare you were bringing in a purchase and show your receipts?

I did take advantage of the Father's day instant rebate from Adorama.... don't understand why there is no such thing here in Canada (I mean for Pentax). I also had to pay the shipping, GST/PST as well. The total is still under one thousand which I can not get with any stores (including online) in Canada. This package also comes with US 3 year warranty. I can only get 1-yr International warranty here plus 1-yr extended warrany from my credit card. Wonder how many of our Pentaxian from Canada are taking advantage of that?
