That's quite a big lens. And an expensive one for such a 24-42mm range, especially when the 16-50mm already cover a better range (24-75mm) for half the price and probably half the size and weight.
But if it's optically better, I guess many people will pay the extra!

That said, I think Tokina hasn't released a single lens with the K-mount in the past 5 years.
If Pentax did work with Tokina on this one, Pentax will likely come up with its own variant in a few months... and it will cost 50% more! lol
They'll just do like they did in the past: Tokina will offer the lens for the Canon and Nikon mounts (and maybe Sony too) and Pentax will offer the lens for the Pentax mount only.
And if it's not a joint design, Tokina still probably won't make it available in the K-mouunt.
I mean, even the Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 (which was not the result of a cooperation between Tokina and Pentax) is only available in Canon and Nikon mounts! Such a bummer, this is a very nice lens.
