well seeing how the trend is, let me add to the already full sea of confusion.

my guess is that Pentax will re-use a classic yet much smaller body but cram it full of tech. There is $$$ to be made from dslr or its equivalent that can fit into a ladies purse. works well with pancake lineup and the recent lens releases show that stabilisation may be software based rather then hardware based.

Has anyone experimented with how inbody SR performs in combination with optical stabilisation?

They cannot work together, they both try to compensate the same movement. So if the optic one can do it, then the sensor will move at the opposite of the original movement. So if you buy one of the Sigma OS lenses, you have to disable one of them (I think in body stab is stopping automatically if sigma OS is ON)

Sorry ogl, but RH's methodology and experimental technique basically suck. None of his results are reproducable.

Is it a joke? It's DCWATCH tests.

Canon has a patent for sensor IS with optical IS.

Canon's optical IS (in some newer lenses) can deal with Yaw movements that sensor based IS cannot.

Sensor IS can deal with rotation along the lens axis that optical systems cannot deal with.

Combining the two could be a big step forward for IS systems.

But then, sometimes patents never see the light of day. And I understand that just because there is a patent, does not mean the system works if it reaches the consumer.
