We'll have to see.
I have the DA 50-200mm WR and used to own two copies of the earlier and now discontinued DA 50-200mm. To discontinue this lens altogether is a dumb idea as there would be no affordable short tele zoom in the lens lineup. My copy of the DA 50-200mm WR is well built, appears to have better image quality than the older versions that I owned, is significantly lighter and smaller than the DA 55-300mm and the AF hunts a lot less and it is a lot easier to handhold. Not everybody needs the extra reach and the compact size actually makes it more desirable when traveling or when a compact setup is needed.

Has no one noticed the sticky Adam has posted yet, which mentions that he will have the information released at 10am tomorrow for

"SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR"

I think that has leaked more information that we've had before. Both ED and AL glass in it, plus internal focusing.

But what can "DC" possibly be

The only thing I could think off hand would be something like "direct control"--i.e. it allows for aperture control, etc. in video recording. Of course, it could just be a typo, with Adam having a Sigma lens in mind. Do tell, Adam

Let the final speculation begin!

Edit: Just had another crazy idea: DC could be related to the focusing system the lens uses.

Maybe it means the same as when Sigma use it :

DC lenses are designed specifically for digital SLRs with the small, APS-C size image sensor. These are not suited for full frame digital or film SLRs as heavy vignetting will occur.

DA already covers that. If Pentax was to get that specific now (as we know some DA lenses can cover 35mm image circle), then that would indicate clear plans to release a FF camera. However, I doubt that. Also, it's unlikely that Pentax would use the same acronym as Sigma for this.

Well, The big show is over and no serious glass has been released. I'm kind of disappointed. I was hoping to see at least one new fast prime longer than 80mm.
