It's amazing the Sony NEX cameras have a larger sensor than the Canon 7D !

What Sony has made with these big lenses on a tiny body makes me sick ... yuck. Actually, this should be called not Nex 'cameras', but "Sony Alpha lenses with an extra pimple".

I know that the Sony Nex is supposed to have good IQ when compared with other mirrorless cameras... but I just think it is by far the least attractive camera of them all. And while I would never buy a camera just based on looks (as it has no impact on the photos) I don't think I could bring myself to spend the money on the Sony.

I am curious to see the Pentax approach to mirrorless. Don't know that I would ever purchase it... but I guess we'll see what they come up with.

Agreed on the aesthetics. I don't really see the point of these giant lenses on a a camera like the NEX or the E-P2. I have an E-P2 and I suppose you could use them on it. As a DSLR user also it just seems like the combination would not be very ergonomic, but then again I haven't tried it out. To be honest, I don't really use big zooms on a DSLR either so I'm probably a bit prejudiced.

Olympus makes some zoom that goes from 14-300mm. Panasonic is releasing a 100-300mm zoom I think early next year. They are much smaller than than those pictured above. I'm not sure that's what these cameras do best, but I've never used one of them.

I have been very pleased with the Panasonic 20mm, 45mm, and their 7-14mm. They seem like a the right size more or less when mounted on the E-P2. In all likelihood I'll get the 14mm or the Voigtlander 25mm when they released next year.

What 14-300? Cannot find it.

If you meant the 14-150, it is 83mm long while the Pentax 18-250 is 85.5mm long. Not a big difference although I agree that the Olympus is only 2/3 the weight (for half the light entering at the tele end).

If you don't like it then get a smaller sensor since all APS-C sensor lenses are much larger than 4/3" sensor cameras. The Sony Nex cameras have a larger sensor than the Canon 7D but try putting it in your pocket with 16mm wide angle.

Size comparison: Sony NEX-5 with 16mm pancake vs. Olympus E-P1 with OM Zuiko 28mm ƒ/2.8 via adapter.

It surprises me that there is yet no 14-100. It would seem of more value to have a compact 28-200 equiv and a 17/20mm in your pocket (to me, IMHO).

Correct. I mistyped. It is a 14-150mm. I haven't used it. I'm not sure how long it is fully extended. However, I do have the Olympus 9-18mm. It does extend out a good bit, but say in comparison to the Sigma 10-20mm it is significantly smaller in circumference and weighs quite a bit less. So I would guess the 14-150mm is smaller than a DSLR equivalent when looking at all the dimensions.

I'm not sure if the 14-150mm is a good lens. I do like the 9-18 but I think the Panasonic 7-14 is better although bigger.
