What are you on about? The only spot the k-x outperforms the k7 is high iso noise.

The k7 is a superior machine in every other way.

The K-x also beats the 7 in tonal range and color sensitivity. And just about everyone, K-x included, beats the 7 in dynamic range.

Geesh in regards to DR I've only really seen the advantages of the K-7 on paper.

And an example of the K-7's terrible low light Noise

I gotta say these photos are simply terrible, the lack of DR really kills them for me!

I should add the lightning shot was originally in RAW and was pretty washed out and overexposed, amazing what I was able to recover from the K-7's poor DR./

It's only news to me when I can see the problems in the real world.

Until then it's only just comparative numbers for measurebation.

WoW. those photos really show the K-7's underwhelming DR.

anyway, it would be better for people to start shooting images rather than concentrate on measurebation numbers/reviews and give the wrong impression that it would make their images look better or make them better photographers.

I spoke to the Australian Pentax importer while looking for a lens Hood for my fa*28-70. Told the sales guy I was thinking of upgrading to a K7.I asked him of any newer models but didnt give a straight answer.But he did say hold off on the K7 for a while as Pentax is going to realease a couple of surprises.
Im waiting.

Yes, will be announced at Photokina September, est release date is October. Not sure of the Australian date yet.

K-5 Pentax new flagship, basically the best of the K-7 plus more.
K-r Pentax new low-mid end model, best of the k-x plus more.

I know I am new but I would like to see AF Points and a better LCD screen on the K-x. I can go with or with out Li-on or AA's as long as they fix the batt. indicator stuff. I would sell my K-x and get a new K-whatever if they could give me this stuff. At least a better LCD.
