Sony seems obvious (but may be wrong still).

I agree, but the last 3 cameras K-x, K-7 & 645D all have sensors made by different companies. We know it will not be Kodak, but Samsung and Sony are strong possibilities. Panasonic and Fuji both need buyers.

This is from the company that brings you "*" lenses and brought you a camera line named "*ist".

Pentax is really good at something. It's just not naming.

Or, come to think of it, marketing.

Then what is in the pipeline? A Canon-sensor (EOS-1D Mark IV) would be great to get.

That pretty much just leaves the new Sony 16MP APS-C, or the 14.2 used in the NEX series and the soon to be announced A560.

But more importantly... what I think is most valuable here is the potential that Pentax has to delivery something so amazing, that its going to make all of us FF seekers wish we had not wasted our time trying to find ways to use our favorite glass on other mounts
Unfortunately, any sensor smaller than FF will not allow the use of lenses to their full potential, so unless all you want FF for is the high ISO, and other similar advantages, you will still be disappointed. I primarily want FF for its FOV advantage, and the K-7 is good enough that I won't be upgrading until Pentax releases a FF DSLR.

Agree 100%. I don't have a good feeling about Pentax's next camera, because it's likely to be more "Less-Than-Half-Frame" time wasting. A FF is worth more than twice the price of APS-C, similarly equipped, since two "upgrades" of APS-C STILL won't get you to FF performance, and you'll NEVER get as good a viewfinder OR be able to use the full AOV of your 35mm format lenses with APS-C. It's time for Pentax to make something better, and that means FF, period. I bought APS-C cameras to support the brand (an *istD and a K10D) and to have a digital to play with while I waited for what I actually wanted - a PK FF dSLR. I won't be buying any more APS-C cameras, regardless of how they perform or what features they have. Any more Less-Than-Half-Frame stuff at this point is a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. I have all of the lenses I need(all of them FF compatible), and the only APS-C DSLR I need, and will need. I have most of the accessories I need. So from now until Pentax releases a FF body, my photo budget will almost exclusively go towards buying film and getting it processed. I've got to get my 24x36 fix somehow

Isn't that what APS-C does by using the "sweet spot" of an FF lens?
