K-5, K-r and EVIL in Photokina?

It means that the engineers didn't like the specs that the marketing staff were proposing/demanding.

A good engineering idea may not have a market.

A good marketing idea may not be technically possible or prudent.

This is what I watch from my perch on the fifth floor Monday through Friday - throwing in my opinions on a regular basis. I'm sub-competent in both areas so I get consulted every now and then.

When I think of KR I cant help but think of the famous Australian bacon and sausage company that all Australian have grown up with. KR Darling Downs. Guess they will use it for their product shots.

Indeed, we all do. And those of us that have access to or are credible sources should not be divulging information that we are privy to. If someone is an NDA, they shouldn't be talking since it's a breach of confidentiality. And if someone has access to an NDA, then for one, that person shouldn't be talking, and if they are, then whatever they say should still be kept confidential. Speculation is fun, and I enjoy it as much as the rest of us, but when it comes to divulging information that was that was shared in legal confidentiality, then that's not cool, and I don't think should be supported by this forum.

RH had found this picture on a Chinese website and it allegedly is a K-5. The original picture is very dark, but I tweaked it a bit. It seems that this is either a picture of a K-7 or that the K-7 and K-5 look identical from behind.

This is very possible that K5 would be identical to K7, pentax did this trick with K10D and K20D.

LOL. Ok, so we have a dark grainy picture of a camera that looks EXACTLY like a K-7...maybe I'll go home and leak a dark grainy picture of mine to see if it looks like a K-5 in the dark. Even if it were a K-5 or whatever, it tells us exactly nothing.

Agreed, they spent alot of time perfecting the k7 body, good reason to keep it for the k-5.

Well, the Pentax marketing seems to do stuff like that these days. Remember the blurry K-7 photos from last year?
