Photokina 2010, Pentax and the full frame mystery

The K10D was an amazing camera for the price. The K-7, well... it is now.

Makes me wonder what happens to the Korea market where Samsung is THE brand, and likely many locals bought into the Samsung DSLR. Switch to NX10?

yes, and sensors were designed to be use for those Samsung (initially just branded from some source w/ necessary expertise and market recognition, later designed completelyby Samsung itself... ) cameras, not for Pentax as a company... it did not work out w/ dSLRs (in terms of market share) so Samsumg 14.6Mk2 was redesigned featurewise towards Samsung EVIL cameras (CDAF, etc), not because it was Pentax w/ its marketwise failure like K7... but you can continue to believe that Samsung entered the field because Pentax had money to pay for the development of the sensor or because Samsung was going to just sell its sensors to Pentax w/ its small marketshare.

no they are not, but the fact is that they had such ambitions (which they so far were not able to realize in that specific area - sensors and cameras)

I know this won't change anyones speculations but the fact is, no FF till 2012 at least, don't expect an announcement till next year.

I tend to believe you, but unless you have a direct line with Hoya/Pentax this is just another rumor, like everyone else's.

So far, I have not seen any facts at all. Guesses (even educated ones) are not facts.

Just going off different sources who are apparently in the know. I tend to believe them, but it's always a rumour until you see an official announcement
