Pentax hire

Don't think I have seen this in a thread so far, but have just noticed that SRS Microsystems in UK now do Pentax camera and lens hire.

See Hire - SRS Microsystems For more details.

This has been posted before indeed, but I'm not sure it was on this forum. Even if so, this post is probably a good thing as a reminder.

I'll repeat what I gave as feedback then, i.e. that it's a shame that the offering is limited to Pentax's current product line. It would have been nice to have some long FA* lenses available for rent. Esp since some of these are extremely hard to find, and if found they are even more extremely expensive to purchase (but they are worth it)...

One useful step towards Pentax gear moving into working pro territory, at least in Blighty.

I think I'd be too scared of breaking something to hire it! (not that I've broken, or even damaged, any of my own lenses mind you).

The only lens I might consider hiring would be the 60-250 f/4 just to see how it would suit me, but then I can't really afford it anyway even if I loved the lens.

That's probably for warranty and serviceability reasons. It's likely not cost-effectiveto rent out equipment that may be a service dead-end.

Probably also wants to "test the waters" and see if there's actually a market for this service. If there's a good response, then the offerings may be expanded.
