K-7 in new colors???

Assuming that there will be K-5 above K-7, and if the production of K-7 is to continue for a while, and if they pulled this stunt of coming up with multiple colors for K-7, would you guys buy them? What colors would you guys prefer?? K-7 Silver turned out to be a bit of a dud in Japan. I hear you can still get one there . . . . . .

Sign me up for dutch orange K-7 with purple grip please.

No thanks.. When I do get the one semi-pro model Pentax is currently producing, I don't want to take it on a photoshoot and have people say "Oh, Pentax! Yeah, that model comes in pink now right? I was thinking about getting one for my 12-year-old." Us Pentaxians take enough abuse as it is.. Plus, silver and black are the only colors I personally would buy for a camera that expensive(not really, but you know). Just my 2c's.

Your work speaks for itself. You have no need to worry about people's opinions about your camera.

That being said, sign me up for an orange or a beige one.

I would definitely buy a Pentax K7 in camouflage colors as wall as matching DA with WR - that would match the ruggedness and weather resistance capabilities - and who knows, maybe the armies of the world would buy into this. Until then, there are a lot of people who might find this as value added for their hiking/fishing/hunting camera

I'd definitely consider a new body in silver.
Similar to that of limited edition K20 and K-7.

I like the orange, navy, and brown K-x, but whether or not I'd buy one is a different story.

Less conspicuous

Having a camera in what people perceive as a 'non professional' colour could really aid the street photographer or event photographer?

I definitely would think about it! Depending on the feature set of the upcoming cameras! I think I will be upgrading from my K100D Super soon!

The resistance about color from people working with visual imagery is interesting.

I guess the question is if a move such as this would cheapen the image of what was perceived to be a flagship model. Now that there will be one above it, maybe they can mess with K-7 like they did with K-x.

How about red/black battery grip??? I think that would look cool.

What would be really cool is if the camera has no Pentax logo or markings whatsoever. I know that will never happen, but I will buy that.

You have wrong condition and wrong conclusion

Resistance about funky, bright, distractive and non standard or classic color.
It is a professional instrument, not a stylish accessory for fanboys/fangirls.

Well that's the choice of the consummer. If wants to stylish and you don't offer it, they'll buy from another brand.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I'm at a redlight next to a red Ferrari or yellow Lamborghini. Those "professional instruments" (on a track) couldn't possibly perform better than me, I mean..look at them!

Well, it's funny, because I don't really care about your opinion. As you obviously don't mine.

Exactly. I have no problem with the colorful K-x and may even buy a white one. A more expensive piece of equipment used for work, however should IMO look more professional. Just IMO.
