I don't care about N/C. To pay money for 16 MP CMOS APS-C picture - sorry, it's not for me... I'm not sure that the end result will be better than 10 MP CCD.
Agree it's insane to expect to pay anything...
Pentax should give you one as a thank you for being such a great user...

And the last statement - you lose any credibility you still have (which is close to none).

it will have F2.8 center sensitivity, can't tell about points anything
if this is true, then pentax has been listening and not staying idle
i guess all we have to do is wait and see how the engineers have implemented the improvements in the AF.

does it now track?

a few more weeks!

I would like to see Pentax also introducing a DA* 16-50/2,8 SDM II along with the new cameras, it could be a great combo together with the rumored high ISO senstivity of the new Sony sensor. I refused to byu this lens because of the SDM problems, which many people had here and on dpreview, and because it just would not fit well with K10D(it's not a high iso monster and the AF isn't good). When I bought my first DSLR in 2007 I wasn't interested in high iso photography and simply wanted to shoot landscapes at base iso with camera on a tripod etc, but the time changed and now I'm in a situation, when I would like to shoot dance competitions, where the light is on very low level, so the requirements for this are completly different. I really hope Pentax K-5 will be the answer for this, but it have to come with fast zooms (I'm not much into primes) with improved/realiable SDM . I know some of the other brands FFs could easialy meet this requirements, but I'm not willing to byu it for the current price level . I would like to stay with Pentax, but I'm not anyhow bounded with it (it's just a tool after all). I will wait and see what cameras and lenses wiill be announced at Photokina and then, based on the first reviews and users opinions, will choose the one that will suits my requirements the most..it's simple, no need to be nervous

Andi, I'm not sure if it is a cultural thing, or translation, if English in not your native tongue, but the other poster's comment you replied to does not have the literal meaning you are giving it.

A DSLR are a luxury item and we all have to determine if there is enough value in one or another to spend our money on it. That determination is going to be an individual determination as no two people are going to have the same circumstances. All the OP probably implied with their post is that there wasn't enough comparative value to what they already own to spend more money.

Thank you
Russell

If the K-5 starts at $1499 and drops to around $1200 in about 6 months, I still think that's pretty good.

it's my answer to this POST. I'm not ready to pay $1499 for APS-C camera.
But I'm ready to pay $1800 for FF.

Well, I'm new here, but already noticed, the guy makes a lot of noise,
makes us believe some found info is his own inside and expects Pentax
to give him a lot for nothing...
Look, the price was already discussed, it's gonna be the same as K-7,
dropping quickly. Why do you want Pentax to survive and in the same time
you want them to give away their cameras?

Then buy a Sony! Or wait for the $1,200 APS-C K-5 street price.

You DO know that the MSRP prices are for the taxman and accountants, right? They're not "real" prices from the distribution channel to the consumer?

You do know that, right?

That is fine you're not ready to pay the MSRP. Most aren't, and most don't. Glad to see you're ready to pay a completely unrealistic sum for a completely non-existent camera though.

Hold onto that K200, I am so 100% sure a replacement will come, along with the FF camera that you are ready to buy at a bargain.

So I think you will have to make one for yourself. 5D MkII still sells strong for $2500

Heh, could you imagine? Pentax puts out new cameras every 18 months or so (per model). Sony spews out new bodies like there is no tomorrow - OGL's head would explode with rumors!

I have said it a dozen times before, OGL's adage is that if you throw enough crap at the wall, something will stick that you can refer back to in a new post that you knew it was coming all along. Being right on 20% of the information doesn't make the other 80% of garbage worth wading through (alright, threads like this do get kinda fun!)

It is usually a conglomerate of wish lists, plus reference to other brand products that are new to the market (i.e. new sensors from Sony, latest something from another company, etc etc).
