It WAS available since it is now discontinued and the 18-270 is NOT available for K mount.

perhaps Hoya is the cause of eliminating Tamron lenses.

Unlike Sigma, who back-engineers Pentax lenses, Tamron pays a license fee to produce lenses in the latest K mount spec. perhaps Hoya increased license fees for the K mount, leading Tamron to give Pentax DSLRs a pass. Its odd that Tamron would give a pass to pentax just as pentax comes out wtih popular K7 and Kx dslrs.

In any case, i bought Tamron 1.4TC, 18-250, and 28-75 over the last few years, all really good products - hope they reverse their decision at some point.

I sent an email to Tamron regarding their 18-270 PZD and 70-300 USD lenses, and the reply I received was,

"Unfortunately I have not heard of any intentions to release either of those lenses with Pentax mounts. No announcement of intentions for future Pentax lenses have been made at this time."

There are Sony versions of these two lenses, as well as the 60mm F2 macro lens. From Tamron's USA site:

"* Image stabilization is an integrated function of Sony Alpha-mount DSLRs and would conflict lens-based IS. Therefore, the Tamron VC function is omitted from models manufactured for Sony Alpha-mount DSLRs."
