Different rumour (speculation): new SR mechanism.
- Follows Pentax tradition (and advantage) of retaining value of existing glass.
- May be answer to shutter blur, mirror slap, and stinging nettles.
- May be reason that new glass isn't so important right now - new SR makes existing glass better, freeing resources for FF work.
- Creates competitive advantage by neutralizing claims that N/C in-lens stabilization is more valuable. We need only to point to Nikon VR II prices.
And it makes my shaky hands less of a liability. A very good thing.
