Maybe the new camera not only does 1080P video, but also is able to do keying where the background picture can be selected in-camera. So no need to add the picture afterwards in post processing.

A static picture isn't quite useful, except in a static scene. With dynamic setting, motion tracking and scene registration is needed. I doubt it can be done well in camera, real-time.

It is more likely that the green screen is for the video taking itself. Like someone noted, they use all kinds of materials and it is not uncommon to have such backdrop in professional studio. Probably there will simply be background of casino. In such setting i would advertise some stylish, fashionable camera, instead of professional, feature rich camera.

Could it be, that Pentax is getting more serious about their P&S line. More marketing, better placed models (like the new W series, 110, x90).

iChat AV has done it in real time on the mac for years. May still be too cpu-requring for a small camera processor, though.

It seems like they're finally getting some quite good models out. The x90 gets some decent reviews, the W series is good as always, and the i10 at least gets a lot of free advertisements (but it would have been better if the innards of that model had been less "me too"). I noticed that the small camera shop closest to my office now has the W90 and the i10 in addition to the K-x, for years they didn't have any Pentax cameras at all. Actually all three shops within 200 meters have the K-x on display.
