K5/K7 with K-Adapter/645 and PENTAX-D FA 645 55mm F2.8 = WEATHERPROOF???

1st...

As we know there is a dustproof, weather-resistant lens for the amazing 645D.
--> Pentax announces D FA 645 55mm F2.8 lens: Digital Photography Review

If I use this lens with the upcoming K5, will this system still be dustproof + weather-resistant? I guess the K-Adapter/645 could be the weak point. Who knows more?

2nd...

Any new dustproof, weather-resistant lens for the 645D in the news?
I guess the 55mm F2.8 is the only one so far.

3rd...

I heard about a new 18-125 mmm here in Forum. Is it only wishful thinking or will it be released soon? Which specs does this lens have?

The adapter "will" be the weak point. It, too will have to be WR in order for it to make any sense.

unless it's a press release from Pentax it's all wishful thinking

why would u want to do this? You're probably well aware there's a fully WR 55mm 1.4 DA* lens no adapter needed. Was your question purely rhetorical?

@illdefined

It's no rhteorical question only.

Fotopunto.com: Crop factor and focal length equivalence calculator
Select the lens type -> Medium format lens
Specify the focal length of the lens -> 55 mm
Select the camera for which you want to find the equivalence -> Other "APS-C" type camera

As you can see, you cannot compare the 55mm DA* with the 55 mm MF. But is there any official statement that this adapter might be the "weak point"?

What do you mean?
On the APS-C camera, both lenses would offer the same angle of view (of course they would, since they're both 55mm). However, the DA* would be:
- f/1.4 and not f/2.8
- cheaper
- smaller (and with 58mm filter thread instead of 62)
- fully functional, including AF

Yes, there is an "official statement": the lack of an WR marking on that adapter

I think you're very confused. 55 mm is 55 mm is 55 mm, and both lenses will give exactly the same FOV on an APS-C camera.

The only "shown" new 645D lens is a 28mm prototype shown at the official presentation of the 645D in Tokio, last spring. But there is not any official annuncement so far.

@eurostar

It seems that I can buy this lens here for around 1056,- Euro.

It has been presented at the launch of the 645D, however focal length has not been specified. 28mm is just a speculation since this lens is released to compensate for the "crop factor" of the 645D and the more demanding spec of digital vs film, as a replacement of for the 35mm.

The official Pentax sources speak only of "an ultrawide".
