It looks like a Canon lens.
That was my thought when I saw the plastic focus ring.

I'm pretty sure they're done with lenses.

I'm honestly disappointed with this. It's like when you find out that your sister is easy. You just can't look up to her anymore.

It's what's inside that counts!

Ugly on the outside maybe, but with beautiful IQ from what's inside!

No one really cares about the camera, it's the lens they're disappointed about.

For me the possibility that the K-5 will not be just a K-7 super is now close to zero. I´m so disappointed..

Just wait a while until the official specs are released. They are obviously creating distinct camera segments for different users.
But even the K-r will beat the crap out of the old workhorses like the K10D. 6fps!!!

No need to be disappointed - try the K-r first before dismissing it, and as for the DA 35 - look at price and target market, then consider what the results will be like from this kit prime... forget quick-shift and distance scale... (although I would have expected it to be a DA-L lens if not quick shift...) look at what it can capture...

Then you should check out one of these.

Just kidding, I'm sure you meant SAFOX IX.

Agreed, if the 35mm was faster it'd be great. I really do hope the AF is much improved.

Indeed. My interest for a white DA35mm has increased dramatically.

Did anyone else notice that the new 35mm did not get a "DA L" designation?
It did; see here. It's most definitely a DA L, as it has a plastic mount.
