Looks good to me too.
DA 35 also looks like a winner for a kit prime lens.
Good choice, Pentax, I say...

Wow, that lens is much longer than I would have expected!

Also. despite my earlier comments, I won't buy one if they only come in pink.

Edit, again: Nevermind the pink comment.

Not even a rubber ring for the focus? They really are cutting costs!
Not sure about that - have a look at the front end of the lens - looks like metal/plastic focus ring without distance indicators. Good IQ means more than a distance scale IMO.

They call it mid-level? So no longer entry-level...
I take it the K-5 will be considered a high-end model?
Then again, in the body of the article, it makes mention of the K-r being an intro-level body...

So the K-r has a similar 12Mp CMOS as the K-x - only with an extra stop of ISO. Hope it's more than just another boost mode...
and the article didn't make mention of the DA 35...

Yeah, I suppose we're not looking at the best examples of the lens, either. However, it just looks really cheap to me. And it does seem a bit long for a 35/2.4.

There's even gold, silver and metal brown models of the DA 35/2.4.

Having a maximum aperture of f/2.4 for a kit prime lens of this focal length is a BIG disappointment when you compare that Sony has announced the DT 35mm f/1.8 SAM, Nikon has the AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G and Canon has the EF 35mm f/2 as budget equivalents... Bloody hopeless idiots...

So boring camera and lens....No SDXC, adapter for АА is optional...No WR for body.

The price of DA35/2.4 is 20USD higher than Sony and Nikon 35/1.8

On K-x the lenses only come in limitted colors, so this one probably too

Any picture from the LCD, I am curious to see if they made it bigger?
- And also the OVF!!! Is pop-up flash K-x size or more K-7...

Yeah that was my first impression as well. Why 2.4? Sony and Nikon have lenses at 1.8 at similar price points... It may be cheaper but is only a 1/3 stop faster than the 35mm macro!

(didn't do maths on 1/3 stop btw, so please spare me the corrections )
